1989STS-29 Discovery finally launched from KSC after multiple delays since the original launch date of February 18. The primary payload was TDRS-D, the third and final component of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) constellation in geosynchronous orbit.

1986Soyuz T-15 launch to dock first with Mir then moved to dock with the inoperative space station Salyut 7, found frozen. Repairs were made, but the station never hosted humans again. On July 16 1986 Salyut 7 made an uncontrolled entry over Argentina.
