1977 -First Free Flight of Shuttle prototype Enterprise. it was built for NASA as part of the Space Shuttle program to perform atmospheric test flights after being launched from a modified Boeing 747.

1977 – High-Energy Astronomy Observatory 1 (HEAO 1) was the first in a series of three satellite observatories designed to continue the X-ray and gamma-ray studies initiated by ANS, OAO 3, UK 5, the OSO series, the SAS series, and the gamma-ray burst discoveries of the Vela satellites. The mission ended on January 9, 1979.

1960 – Echo 1 Deployment The U.S. launched the Echo 1 satellite, a large, inflatable sphere that reflected radio signals, enabling the first two-way telephone conversation via satellite reflection. Echo 1 orbits the Earth at an altitude of 1600 km. One of its receiving stations is in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
