2008GRB 080319B, a cosmic burst 7.5 gigalight-years distant is visible to the naked eye for approximately 30 seconds and becomes one of the brightest celestial objects ever witnessed. Swift establishes a new record for the farthest object visible to the naked eye.  Swift observed a record four GRBs that day, which also coincided with the death of noted science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke.

1991Progress M-7 was an unmanned resupply vessel to Mir. It was the 25th of 64 Progress spacecraft to visit Mir. It attempted to dock with Mir at 14:28 GMT, but missed the station by 500 m.
