1994 STS-59 intended to land at KSC however wind conditions had them stay in space for another day and then land at Edwards Air Force Base. Time in space: 11 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes, 30 seconds. Distance travelled 7,571,762 kilometers (4,704,875 mi). Orbits completed 183.

1983Soyuz T-8 was a crewed mission to the Salyut 7 Space station. However the Soyuz failed to dock due to a mechanical interference, an antenna was torn off when the launch shroud came off, and the mission was aborted and the crew were safely returned to Earth. 1973 Anik A2 Launch from Cape Canaverel. The Anik A satellites were the world’s first national domestic satellites. The Anik A fleet of three satellites gave CBC the ability to reach the Canadian North for the first time. 

1972Apollo 16 lands on the Moon.  One of six successful human Moon missions, John W. Young and Thomas K. Mattingly II touched down in the Descartes Highlands. This was the first study of highlands area, various cameras and experiments were deployed and the Lunar Rover Vehicle was used for second time. Lunar surface stay-time, 71 hours. 95.8 kg (213 lbs) of moon rocks were collected.

1961 – Harold Graham achieves the first free flight of Bell Aerosystems “Rocket Belt.”  Graham flew successfully approximately 4 feet (1.2 meters) at 7 to 10-mph for 13 seconds over a distance of 112 feet on a vacant spot near the Niagara Falls airport. The flight lasted 13 seconds.

1959 – Canada-NASA sounding rocket agreement. – NASA announced acceptance of proposals by the Canadian Defense Research Telecommunications Establishment for continuing joint rocket and satellite ionospheric experiments of a nonmilitary nature.
