2000 - The journal Science reports findings from the Galileo spacecraft's  magnetometer data that provide the strongest evidence yet of a salty liquid water ocean beneath the surface ice of Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. 

ACE spacecraft logo1997 - Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) launched on a McDonnell-Douglas Delta II 7920 launch vehicle from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The prime objective of ACE was to measure and compare the composition of several samples of matter, including the solar corona, the solar wind, and other interplanetary particle populations, the local interstellar medium (ISM), and galactic matter.
